EPL Week 7-Quick Hits-The Palin Edition
There is a new standard for American political figures: Call yourself the candidate for Joe Six Pack and if you can walk away from a debate or an appearance without making a complete fool of yourself you win: So how does it apply to the EPL?
The Joe 6-Pack Award- Pompey-The retirement home for English footballers continues to make old English players happy in their old age if not exactly a real threat to do anything-True Joe 6 Pack style.
The Joe Biden-Winning is meaningless if your not a fool to begin with Award-Chelsea-A solid victory over Villa-but who really cares your supposed to do that. Look bad against Hull and people will talk. Runner Up-Man U.- A victory over Blackburn is just another day at the office. One Wayne Rooney should change his name to Robin, anyone want to guess who Batman is?
The America Can still do it right Award: Liverpool. I refuse to credit Rafa, but the American ownership clearly shows why we whipped the Russians and still lead the free world. Who owns City anyway? Another top 10 game of the year. Tell me you weren't rooting for City despite bleeding Red, White, and Blue.
The Palin being in the right place at the right time Award: Hull. Ok, I love them but a game with Spurs has to be a dream ticket for anyone right now.
The John McCain if we do not lose we win Award: Newcastle. Who else can consider a draw a victory. Hopefully, John McCain will suspend his campaign and fly to Newcastle until a new rich owner is found or at least until he can take credit for the sale.
The Hilary Clinton end of the dream award: West Ham. A return to earth with a defeat at the hands of Bolton. That new pasta diet may not be a complete cure for what bothers you. It was tasty for a couple weeks.
The we still need America award: Has to go to Fulham. Maybe a few more Yanks would help like they did last year. Clint Dempsey looks lonely.
The Barack Obama a tie is as good as a win Award: Sunderland. I 've never seen a manager so happy with a draw at home then Roy Keane with his draw with the Gunners.
Was it just me or did Fabio Capello take in every EPL game this weekend. If so, then he should be elected the next US President.

Comment by AtlantaPompey on October 6, 2008 at 9:03pm - The retirement home for English footballers has four players on the England squad, qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Cup, and sits 7th in the league. Oh, and they won the FA Cup last season. Last time I was in a retirement home, and that wasn't that long ago, those people weren't that spirited. Maybe Harry found the fountain of youth?
